Women can be just as discriminating with their scuba equipment as they are with everyday items when they go shopping( Ladies, that is supposed to be a compliment J ) With scuba diving gear, they have more reason too. Studies show that women absorb a higher percentage of their body weight in scuba gear than men do, even while carrying less body strength. From that standpoint, a deficiency in design that could be a minor annoyance for a man can have the potential of a challenging diving ordeal for a woman.
Scuba Diving equipment manufacturers have started realizing this issue and have been recently designing gear with the concern of women in mind. In fact, the folks at Scuba Diving magazine have recommended a few BC's that are specifically tailored for women underwater.
Some of the BCs that they recommended include:

Deep Outdoors - Tranquility
These brands were rated highly for women because
a) They performed very well in ascent control. These BCs were very well in controlling a normal ascent.
b) They also received high marks in stability. The BCs kept the diver in proper swimming position and minimized wobbling.
