Divesuit maintenance
|
So you recently bought your scuba dive suit, and you went for your first dive and you had never been this comfortable in a scuba suit . You are absolutely in love with your dive suit.
Now, how do you keep the divesuit in mint condition?
Here are a few tips and techniques to make sure that your scuba dive suit lasts a long time.
First, make sure to read the manufacturer's instructions on the proper care of your
particular model.
Here are some additional guidelines.
Rinse it in fresh water after your dive.
Dry it inside out and store in a cool, dry place.
Do not hang it on a metal hanger, as that could cause rust stains.
Avoid folding, which could eventually cause creases and wear out the fabric.
Occasionally, lubricate zippers and fasteners with silicone.
When you are drying the divesuit, make sure to separate them enough with plenty of room so that they air and dry properly. If they are stored touching together, they can start sticking.
Try to use a thick hanger, as that will allow the scuba dive suit to dry faster and cause less ceasing.
If the manufacturer recommends so, have the garment cleaned with a commercial preparation
