This is one of the HID dive light that is designed for Alkaline batteries, and intended for recreational divers. One of the features of the HID light is that it does not turn on immediately. However in a period of ten seconds, it starts out as a dim glow and builds to a brilliant white, almost blue light. In fact, the light cannon now has the reputation of giving out more light than others in its category. Also, it has a diffusion filter that transforms the light from a fairly focused spotlight to a floodlight capable of filling an entire room. In addition to bright lights, Light Cannon, being an HID light, will have a long bulb life, between 500 and 1000 hours.
